Helen Stratton Anderson

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Helen Stratton Anderson, of Orem, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Helen was born in Provo Bench on August 3, 1925 to John Briggs and Ruby Jane Larsen Stratton.

Helen is survived by her loving husband, Charles Emery Anderson, of 64 years; sister MarJean Stubbs, brother Richard B. Stratton; children Charles Russell (Karalue) Anderson, Marjorie (Gary) Points, JaNae Jones, Shellee Anderson, and Alan Emery (Katherine) Anderson; 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Helen's life was dedicated to providing and caring for her family. She married the love of her life, Chuck, in the Logan Temple on October 20, 1944. Helen had exquisite taste and style, apparent in her abilities as an artist, seamstress and homemaker. Her home was always beautiful as she strived to make it heaven on earth. While raising five children, Helen attended Brigham Young University with her daughters and received a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education. She embraced the Gospel of Jesus Christ and spent her life trying to live its principles in order to build the Kingdom of God on earth. She stood for truth and righteousness and fervently prayed that her posterity would always defend their faith. She completed her church callings with great care and dedication, serving honorably in the Provo Temple, American Fork Temple and as a guide at Temple Square in Salt Lake City. Chuck and Helen had the opportunity to fulfill two missions in the Chile Santiago North Mission where they helped build a chapel, reactivated dozens of members and served in the Santiago Temple. Her dedication to the women of the Church was immeasurable as an exemplary leader in numerous stake and ward Relief Society and Young Women presidencies. Helen Stratton Anderson was "quite a lady."
