According to family tradition, Francis Marion Baldwin and Mary Sadler married during the Civil War in Limestone County, Texas.
F.M. and Mary were the parents of twelve children: Anderson Lafayette, Allen H., E. Levi, Charles R., Robert Lee, Willis Ann, Mittie Jane, Walter L., Lemuel H., Alice, Rosco, and Carry Lena. All are listed below on this page except for their oldest son Anderson Lafayette Baldwin. He was born 12 Sep 1866 in Limestone County, Texas. It is believed that he died in 1912 in Texas, but no record of his death or burial has been found.

The Baldwin family left Limestone County, Texas in 1884 and moved to Young County. They purchased land on the Clear Fork river, two miles northeast of Eliasville, Texas.
