William Ahlke was born in Lippstodt, Germany and came to America in 1891 at the age of seventeen. He worked in the brickyards in Wisconsin to make money so he could 'go west'. He was living in El Reno, Indian Territory when he met his wife, Frances Elizabeth Meier. They were married 11 feb 1900. Frances was born 26 aug 1880 to John Meier and Elizabeth unknown. She came to America as a small child. She and her parents lived in Nebraska before moving to El Reno, Indian Territory. William and Frances moved to Apache around 1906. They homesteaded northwest of Apache, living on the Hatchetville Road. They had three children, Sophia Elizabeth Ahlke Parrish, Paulina Matilda Ahlke Fagg Kitchens and Conrad Ahlke. The children were all born in Indian Territory and attended Boone School.
