Son of William and Ruby Pinson. Brother of Ray Pinson. Family migrated to California in 1941 from Alabama. He was a Korean War veteran and was involved in action at Cho-San. He married his childhood neighbor Irma Barron in Los Angeles in 1956. Father of Gina, Michael, Mary & Chris. Grandfather of of 8. He was a longtime resident of Lakewood, Calif. where his 4th of July fireworks shows were legendary.

Gene loved fishing, old movies, exploring historic places. (Bodie, CA was a favorite) Playing solitare and vacationing at Rosarita Beach, Mexico and Oroville, CA. where he eventually moved to after he retired from Ameritone Paint Company, Compton CA. He was a Feather Falls, CA. resident at the time of his passing. He died the day after Fathers Day from complications after an 8 year battle with emphysema.
