Dorothy Barnhart Burgess,81,of Elkview died Tuesday,Dec 14,2004,at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Mrs Burgess was a bookkeeper and a former employee of Charleston Linen Company and the West Virginia Department of Highways. She was a member of Sandy Knob Community Church,Elkview,and volunteered at the Union Mission. She was proceded in death by her husbands,Jess J.Barnhart and Henry Burgess. Surviving sons, Daniel T. Barnhart of Elkview and Bruce A. Barnhart and wife Linda,of Enterprise,Ala;granddaughters,April Dawn Coleman and husband,Dana of Princeton and Jessica Lynn Leininger and Husband,Justin,of Boone,Iowa,two great-granddaughters and one stepgreat-grandson;and a brother,Herschel Carte and wife Maxine of Ashford,Ala. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday,Dec 17,at Myers Funeral Home Chapel,Elkview with the Rev.Wayne Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Elk Hills Memorial Park,Big Chimney. Arrangements are by Myers Funeral Home,Elkview.
