Alford Malick DeBakey, the son of Mary Curtis DeBakey and the late Alexander Mark DeBakey, was born April 23, 1934 in Blytheville, Arkansas and died May 12, 1987 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 53 years and 19 days. He was a retired grocery store owner. He was a member of the Braggadocio Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Mary DeBakey of Braggadocio, Mo.; two sons: Mark DeBakey and Keith DeBakey, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.; One daughter, Cindy Barksdale of Dupo, Ill.; one sister, Anna Bell Bryant of Memphis; two nephews: Mark Bryant of St Louis, Mo. and Joseph Bryant of Little Rock, Ark.; and several grandchildren.
Rev Bill Luttrell and Rev. Earl Grigory conducted services from German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel at Steele, Mo. Wednesday, May 13, 1987 at 2:00 p.m. Burial was at Maple Cemetery, Caruthersville, Mo. with arrangements by German-Aumon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Joey Riggs, Bud Scott, Shirley Bruton, Gary Bruton, Max Bryant and Charles Darnell.
