CONWAY — Mrs. Mary Boone Lanier Davis, 83, of Conway, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
Mrs. Davis was born Sept. 10, 1925, in Northampton County, the daughter of the late John Edward Boone and Lizzie Hasty Boone. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, J.B. Lanier; her second husband, John G. Davis; and her brother-in-law, J.R. Duke. She was a member of Jackson Baptist Church and a farmer.
Survivors include her sisters, Nell Boone Duke and DeRother Boone Tromans and her husband, John, all of Jackson; her stepdaughter, Susan Davis Pope and her husband, Thomas, of Conway; her stepson, John M. Davis and his wife, Peggy, of Raleigh; her grandchildren, Jenny Disney, Beth Vinson, John Pope and James Pope; her niece, Nell Dean Williams and her husband, Kenneth; and her nephews, Michael Tromans and his wife, Rita, and Jimmy Duke.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., today, May 20, at Massey Funeral Home in Jackson, which is handling the arrangements.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 21, at Jackson Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bob Johnson and the Rev. Joe McLean officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Cemetery.
