Roy C. Emch, born on 5 September 1887, at Carroll, in Wayne County, Nebraska and died on 14 July 1952. He was the son of Niclaus "Nicholas" Carlton Emch (1852-1930) and his wife, Rachel Rebecca (née Torrence) Emch (1857-1947).
Like his father and brothers, he too homesteaded near Leith, North Dakota in 1907.
He married in 1908, Alice Daily, who's family had also homesteaded near Leith in 1907. From their marriage resulted the following children: Leo R. Emch, Agnes R. (née Emch) Himes, Bernard R. Emch, Marcella (née Emch) Ward, and Robert Emch.
