Bill Barton, age 73, a resident of Russellville, died Sunday, July 12, 2009, at his home.
He was born May 27, 1936, at Russellville to Jessie Alton and Ina Beatrice Bradford Barton. He was the retired owner of Sonic Drive-Ins in Mesquite, Texas and was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Tracy Barton; a step-son, Michael Baggett; and two brothers, Jesse Barton Jr. and Michael Barton.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Jo Canerday Barton; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jim D. and Marie Barton of Russellville, Billy G. Barton of Oklahoma, and Frankie J. and Trina Barton of Russellville; two step-sons, Pat Baggett and Jeff Baggett, both of Russellville; a step-daughter, Sharon Baggett of Russellville; a brother and sister-in-law, Doyle and Patsy Barton of Sherman, Texas; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
The family will conduct a memorial service at noon on Sunday, July 19, 2009, for family and friends at the Barton Home, 3712 Dixon Road. Burial in Paschal Cemetery near Moreland will be private. Arrangements are by Shinn Funeral Service.
