She spent her youth in Herington, KS, coming to Russell in 1908 where she was employed by the telephone company. She was united in marriage to Jacob Ruff at Russell, KS on June 13, 1911. This marriage was blessed with one daughter, Juanita.
Mrs. Ruff had been in poor health for many years but remained active until the last few years when she was not able to take part in many activities. She did enjoy her hours of sewing and tending her flowers, espeically her many roses.
She was member of the Methodist Church and attended regularly until her health prevented her taking an active part in church.
She is survived by her husband, Jacob, of the home; her daughter, Mrs. Kelvin (Juanita) Baxter of Russell; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Services were held from the Trinity Methodist Church on Wednesday, December 14, 1966, at 2:00 P.M. Clergyman was Rev. Harold Lambert. Soloist was Melven Neil; he sang In the Garden and It is Well With My Soul. The organist was Mrs. Walter Pettijohn. Pallbearers were: Carl Kilian, Chester Dawson, Frankie New, Doran Dole, Cliff Pabitzky and Bob Barnes. Interment was in the Russell City Cemetery, Russell, KS.
