Maurice Charles, 64, of Jacksonville, IL, formerly of Auburn and Springfield, IL, died at 5:40 am Sunday June 11, 1961.

He was born in Lievin, Pas de Calais, France on July 22, 1896 to Henry and Adolphine (Duffeur) Charles. They preceded him in death.
He married Minnie Ruth Duff on October 22, 1922 and she preceded him in death on January 3, 1942.

Survivng are three sons, Maurice A (Elizabeth)of Quantico, Va, John W (Verdie)of Auburn and James Robert (Helen)of Springfield; seven daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth P(Earl)Berggren, Chicago, Mrs. Dorothy J (John)Stoffel of Springfield, Mrs. Ruth A (Loran)Miller, Mrs. Helen J (John)Anderson, Mrs. June (Charles)Smalley and Mrs. Frances K (Tim) Mellor, all of Normal, IL. Mrs. Mary M (Kenneth)Hamilton of Houston, Tx; one brother, Henry Charles of Springfield and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Horton of Monroe, Mi.; and 20 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday at the Vancil Funeral Mansion. Burial will in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
