Civilian Casualty of the Great War, Leah was 53 and killed, along with her husband, John by enemy action at Southend-on-Sea, Essex.Deaths by Enemy Action in the first world war were not recorded in the same way as those during WWII. There are no details at the present time of what exactly caused the death- Germany did use Gotha Bombers to attack London but it is possible that it was a bomb from one of the many Zeppelin airship raids.(Civil Registration Details:Deaths Sep 1917 John 53 Rochford 4a 561
