Florence E. "Bo" Spalding SCNA, 85, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Nazareth home. She was a native of Marion County, and was a retired employee of First National Bank where she had worked for over 40 years. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, William M. and Mary Acquin Mattingly Spalding; five siblings, Rev. William A. Spalding, Albert D. Spalding, Dr. James A. Spalding, Catherine S. Battcher and Lee Mattingly Spalding; and a brother-in-law, George H. Abell.
Survivors include her sisters and brother, Sarah Spalding Abell, Joseph M. Spalding, Mary Acquin Schneider (Claude) and Sr. Rita Spalding SCN; sister-in-law, Barbara Spalding; brother-in-law, Joseph H. Battcher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Nazareth Chapel at Nazareth Home, 2000 Newburg Road, with burial following in St. Augustine Cemetery in Lebanon at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road, and from 9:45 until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Nazareth Home. Memorial gifts may be directed to the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, PO Box 8, Nazareth, KY 40048.
