Addie Broom was the daughter of James Madison Broom and his second wife Mary Anne Richardson.

She married John Taylor "Bud" White, findagrave #39636014, son of Mary F. Minerva and John White. Bud was born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, August 28, 1870; died in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, August 26, 1945; buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, August 27, 1945.

They had six children:

1. John M. White b. ca 1903
2. Wade Morris White b. 1905, d. 1983
3. Mary V. White b. ca 1910
4. Murray Wilson White b. 1912, d. 1980
5. Roy James White b. 1915, d. 1992
6. Lewis White b. ca 1921
