Thomas B. Durham, Sr., aged 85 years died at the home of his son, Dr. J. P. Durham at Trout, La., Thursday, July 15th at 3 a.m.

The deceased made his home with his daughter, Mrs. H. B. King of Verda and had gone to Trout for a visit when he was stricken with the illness which resulted in his death.

Mr. Durham was well known in this section where he had made his home since boyhood. He was a native of Georgia but came to Louisiana when quite young and settled in the Sardis Community where he married and reared a splendid family.

He made frequent visits to Winnfield in the homes of his daughter, Mrs. J. W. Richardson and son, Jesse Durham before the latter moved to Crowville, and has many other relatives and friends here who were grieved to learn of the death.

The funeral took place Friday morning at 10 o'clock with interment in the Sardis Cemetery. The services were conducted by the Rev. Mickael who had been the pastor of the deceased for many years.
