Dr. Durham, born in Sardis community in Winn Parish, had been practicing in Rapides since 1906, and in Pineville for the past 18 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Jonesville.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 11, in the Hixson Funeral Home chapel in Alexandria with Rev. Breithaupt of Jena officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pineville, with Masonic services.
Graveside Masonic rites were performed by members of the Solomon Masonic Lodge No. 221, with Floyd Smith as Worshipful Master and O. U. Payne chaplain.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Louella Durham of Pineville; two sons, Thomas E. Durham of Pineville and Cecil G. Durham of Lafayette; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd W. Jones of Pineville and Mrs. H. H. Wheeler of Pineville; four brothers, W. M. Durham of Alexandria, Jessie Durham of Winnfield, Robert Durham of Galveston, and Thomas Durham of Oklahoma City; five sisters, Mrs. Jessie Richardson of Winnfield, Mrs. Joanna Durham of Natchitoches, Mrs. Robert Mathews of Atlanta, Mrs. Hardy Wallace of Verda, and Mrs. Wiley Cupples of West Monroe; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
