Mrs. Lorenne B. Suggs, 79, died Wednesday (July 15, 2009) at her daughter's residence in Lake Park, (Lowndes Co) GA following an extended illness.
She was native of Ware County and had lived most of her life in Manor. She had been living for the past three years in Lake Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Suggs; her parents, Thomas M. "Tom" and Irene White Boyd; two children, Betty Jean Thornton and David Suggs; two sisters, Bullar Beacher and Elemaren Boyd; and two brothers, James Boyd and Valas Boyd. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her children, Erma Hightower (husband Carl) of Griffin, Nora Hightower (husband Clinton) of Lake Park, Tommy Suggs (wife Margrette) of Fayetteville, Johnny Suggs of Waycross and Stanley Suggs (wife Carol) of Thomaston; a brother, Stancil Boyd (wife Suzan) of Manor; 29 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday (July 18, 2009) in the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday night from 6 until 8.
