WINNABOW, May 25 - Marcellus S. Benton, 48, of Winnabow, died early yesterday at the Dosher Memorial hospital at Southport.
Funeral services were to be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 p. m. from the residence. The Rev. L. L. Barnes was to officiate and interment was to follow in the New Hope Presbyterian church cemetery.
Mr. Benton is survived by his wife and nine children; five daughters, Mrs. A. B. Taylor, Pink Hill; Margorie Benton, Phyllis Benton, Cherly Benton, and Katherine Benton, all of Winnabow; four sons, Martin L., U. S. M.; Conrad C., Michael, and Kenneth, all of Winnabow; his mother, Mrs. A. S. Benton, of Wilmington; three brothers and four sisters, Rich Benton, of Elizabethtown, Jethro, of Wilmington, and Eugene of Miami, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. Marie Watson, Bolton; Mrs. Calvin Mercer, Winnabow; Mrs. Bessie Sullivan, Leland, and Mrs. Thelma Kuhens of Wilmington.
Active pallbearers were to be Woodus Mercer, Curtis Sullivan, Martin Sullivan, Julius Benton, Harry Lee Benton and Elwood Benton.
