He was born Sept. 20, 1935, in Springfield, the son of Oscar F. and Gertrude Crim Russell Sr. He married JoAnn Weyant in 1954.
Mr. Russell worked at Freedom Coal Co., Vredenburgh Lumber Co. and retired from Ace Sign Co. as a fabricator in 1999. He was a member of Third Presbyterian Church and the Eagles Club. He raced sprint cars from 1969-75.
Survivors: wife, JoAnn; a son, Jerry (wife, Sheri) Russell of Springfield; a grandson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: Staab Funeral Home, the Rev. Warren Wilkewitz officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
