One of the sweetest of God's children, Myrtle Brinkerhoff, was born the 9th child of Warren and Josephine Brinkerhoff on December 17, 1918. Myrtle passed through the veil of this life on September 24, 1999.
She married Floyd E. Decker on May 8, 1932 and had 11 children. She was preceded in death by daughters Dorethea and Dixie, son Richard, and husband Floyd. She also has gone on to reunite with her parents and many brothers and sisters.
After Floyd's death in 1961, Myrtle later married Jesse Meacham in 1962. At 44 years old, Myrtle enrolled at Idaho State University in Pocatello where she received a degree in nursing. She loved to care and nurture others so she excelled in her chosen profession.
Jesse preceded Myrtle in death in 1989. Myrtle is survived by Lucille Oliver and Dennis Decker of Powell, Roy and Bill Decker of Worland, Trudy Gail of Cody, Mike Decker of Casper, Don Decker of Ten Sleep, and Patty Tuttle of Byron. Myrtle left five stepchildren and many adoring grand and great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 27, 1999 at the LDS Church in Byron, Wyoming at 11:00 a.m., with interment following at the Lovell, Wyoming Cemetery. Instead of flowers, the family has set up a Northwest Wyoming College Scholarship Fund at Sunlight Federal Credit Union in Powell, Wyoming. Please contact Cindy Bennett.
