Funeral services were held Tuesday with burial in the Brown Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Mr. Barton was born and reared in the Macedonia Community just south of Winnfield. He was the grandson of the late William and Mary Barton, Winn Parish pioneer settlers. He was a steel construction worker and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Jerry, Sam, and Bill Barton of New Orleans and J. C. Barton of the Air Force in Nevada; two daughters, Mrs. Sue Smith of Grand Isle and Miss Gayle Barton of New Orleans; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Billings of DeRidder and Mrs. Wilford Berry of Wisner, La.; three brothers, Kenneth, Cecil, and Clifford Barton of Gilbert, La.; and his mother, Mrs. Lena Barton of Columbia; and five grandchildren.
