The family moved to Lovell, Wyoming in 1916 at the request of their church. Here Nellie met her husband Warren Jones Emmett. They married May 6, 1918 and Nellie was the first WWI bride from Lovell. Nellie and her husband lived in the Big Horn Basin, residing primarily in and around Deaver and Lovell.
She had 10 children. The first being a stillborn son and the last son living only 8 months. All other children survived to adulthood.
She was preceded in death by her husband and three sons. She is survived by one sister, Jala Stevens; her remaining children, Ned, Clarence, John, Charles, Ray, Betty, and Jerry; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren living all across the United States.
Funeral services will be held at the Cowley Ward Chapel, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cowley, Wyoming, at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 1997. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery.
