James Ellis Bazar, 78, resident of Allen Street, Winnfield, died in a local hospital Friday, October 5, after a long illness. He was a retired farmer.

Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Laurel Heights Baptist church with Rev. C. C. Martin officiating. Assisting was the Rev. R. O. Bazar of Keithville. Burial was in Sardis Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers were J. B. Coon, Tillman Shelton, Elton Mixon, Rev. Wilmer Jordan, Rev. David White, and Crockett Teddlie.

Surviving are his wife of Winnfield; one son, James Bazar of Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Maurice Daigre of Port Sulphur; four sisters, Mrs. Laura Lashley and Mrs. Lola Lashley, both of Verda, Mrs. Bell King of Monroe and Miss Seba Bazar of Winnfield; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
