On June 8, 1926, Maxine married Joseph Lee Jessop in Logan, Utah. Lee was born in Millville to Joseph Albert and Frances Louisa Cummings Jessop. He attended Millville School and as a youth worked with his father on the farm. He became an expert mason and was a member of the Carpenters and Masons Union.
Lee and Maxine lived all of their married lives in Millville. Maxine was a Primary teacher, a member of the Singing Mothers, and she worked with her husband on the Old Folks Committee. Lee and Maxine were involved in genealogical work in their later years.
Lee and his brother, Elmo, donated many hours plastering the Millville Ward Building in 1947-1951.
They were the parents of two children: Jay Lamar (died in infancy) and ReNee (Martin Reinkraut).
