Tonasket, Aug. 30 - Turner G. Brown, 74, resident of Okanogan and Methow valleys for the past 45 years, died Tuesday in the Tonasket hospital. He had been in poor health the past four years.

Born on Mar 11, 1876, in Gillman, Iowa. Mr. Brown left Wessington, South Dakota in 1905 for the West. He shipped his belongings to Coulee City by train and from there by wagon freight to his homestead site in the Methow valley. Mr. Brown was one of the early settlers in the valley.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1941.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Frank Hunter of Brewster and Mrs. Vera Jones of Seattle; two sons, Glynn Brown and Ellsworth Brown, both of Tonasket; one sister; Mrs. Andy Brownlee of Seattle; one brother, Ben Brown of Antelope, Saskatchewan, Canada; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
