Mrs.Emma Finley, 91, of Strong, died Wednesday morning in a local nursing home after a lengthly illness. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. H. A. Hewitt of Corpus Christi, Tex. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Pratt Funeral Home.

Emma Ada Adams married Jesse Johnson, Sunday, September 16, 1900 at Oakland, Union Parish, Louisiana. They had one son, Ellis Golden Johnston. Her husband, Jesse dies and she and her young son go to live with her brother James Adams.

Soon after, Emma age 36 and Martin Hugh Finley, age 38 applied for a marriage license on Monday, September 7, 1914 and were married two days later on Wednesday, September 9, 1914 by the Rev. Henry Atkins. They had two children, Henry David Finley and Gladys Wilma Finley. Her son Golden Johnson continued to live at home with them for several years.
