Red Cloud resident, Floyd Kulek, 83, died Saturday at Brodstone Memorial Hospital, Superior.

Services were Tuesday at Simonson-Williams Funeral Home Chapel, Red Cloud, with the Rev. Richard Fairbanks officiating. Burial was in the Guide Rock Cemetery.

Mr. Kulek was born May 8, 1919, to John P. and Josephine (Prochaska) Kulek on a farm near Cowles. He attended Eckley consolidated school. He worked for the Works Progress Administration and farmed north of Guide Rock. On Nov. 20, 1955, he married Shirley Leesley at Papillion. They farmed in Webster County. He retired in 1985. He moved to Red Cloud in 1987.

Survivors are one son, Kevin, Juniata; two daughters, Kim Horne, Red Cloud, and Lannis Ewart, Omaha; one sister, Millie Giger, Gibbon; eight grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
