Born to David and Mary (Dickinson) Joy, in Putney, Windham County, Vermont, in 1793, Moses arrived in Cass County, Michigan from Portland, Chautauqua County, New York, in 1835. He establishing a farm on what is now Trout Road, east of Union, in 1837, and became involved in community affairs. The farm house stood until 2000, when it was razed for more farm acreage, despite being in good condition. Wm. B., 05/2022
