Born to Revolutionary War veteran Zimri Hills and his wife Malinda (Palmer) Hills, at Ferrisburg, Addison County, Vermont, on November 21, 1800, she arrived in Cass County, Michigan from Portland, Chautauqua County, New York, in 1835. Her husband, Moses Joy, established a farm on what is now Trout Road, east of Union, in 1837, and became involved in community affairs. The farm house stood until 2000, when it was razed for more farm acreage, despite being in good condition. Wm. B., 05/2022
