Ann married Thomas Judd at the Parish Church in South Stoneham, Southampton, England on May 31, 1841. On her marriage record, she was listed as a "spinster" at the time of her marriage.

Ann's 7 children were all born while the family was lived in England. George in 1842, James in 1844, Charles in 1847, Henry in 1849, John in 1855, Selena in 1857, and Thomas Frederick in 1860.

Before leaving for the United States, both Henry and Selena died. Henry at 7 years old and Selena at just 4 months.

Ann arrived in New York, with her husband and her 5 remaining children, on the Manchester from Liverpool on May 14, 1861. George was 18, James 16, Charles 13, John 8, and Thomas was just 7 months.
