Blooming Prairie Pays Tribute to WM. Ferrington

Services Monday Largely Attended by Relatives and Friends

Was Active In Farm Circles and the Whole Community

Blooming Prairie, Nov. 26 - A last tribute to William Ferrington, well known, retired farmer and former county commissioner from this district, was paid by relatives and friends at the funeral held on Monday afternoon when services were conducted at the home and then at the First Baptist Church here by Rev. Fred W. Julius. The services were largely attended. The pall Bearers were; Charles Ellinger, Fred Thimsen, Henry Volharth, Albert Bray, Iver Jeilman and Aronld Mortenson. The interment was made in the Blooming Prairie Cemetery.
Mr. Ferrington passed away Thursday morning, November 21, at about 9:30 o'clock at his home in Blooming Prairie at the age of 84 years and six days. He was one of the outstanding citizens of Blooming Prairie township and village. As a farmer, he had one of the fine improved farms in this part of the state. He kept up the buildings and the whole farm reflected a place that was worked and prospered. Mr. Ferrington took a great interest in his his church and rarley was he absent from regular services. He was also interested in the cooperative creamery. He served his community on the school board, his township on the board of supervisor. He was active until he was compelled to retire by reasons of failing health and advancing years.
Mr. William Ferrington was born in Leon, Broom county, New York, November 15, 1856. While still a smal boy he came with his parents to Wisconsin. In 1862 they moved to Minnesota and settled in Rice county. In 1867 they moved to Blooming Prairie township. On March 16, 1880 he was married to Addie Smith.
Mr. Ferrington leaves to mourn his passing, his wife and six children; Luther of Blooming Prairie; Tabor of Owatonna; Guy of Blooming Prairie; Belle, Mrs. George Jorgenson of Medford; Willie of Blooming Prairie; Bessie, Mrs. Peter Nelson of Blooming Prairie. Ten grandchildren survive.
