Etta Violet Anderson, age 93, of Harrah, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Midwest City Hospital in Midwest City, OK. She was born July 9, 1907 at Sedan, KS to Samuel and Esmeralda Bonetta Nancy Trinville (Doty) McAfee. She was a Retail Clerk and a member of the Sedan VFW Auxiliary.

On January 5, 1924 at Independence, KS, she and James Edward Anderson were united in marriage. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1966. Other survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Sanders, Duncan, OK and Sharon Simmons, Harrah, OK, one sister, Bonnie Loyd, Sedan, KS, three daughter-in-laws, Betty Anderson, Marlowe, OK, Irene Anderson, Wichita, KS and Billie Anderson, Kenai, AK, fourteen grandchildren, thirtyone great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

Etta was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters, Mariann and JoAnn and three sons, Jimmy Mac, Buck and Bob.

Graveside services were held Friday, April 27, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Chautauqua, KS. Rev. Dois Nix of the Sedan First Baptist Church officiated. Graves-Baird Funeral Home in Sedan was in charge of the arrangements.
