DIED AT RUSSELL HOME
The venerable John H. Scott was stricken with paralysis at his home in Russell, on Wednesday morning, August 8, 1928, and died in the afternoon of the same day. The funeral was held on Friday.
This marks the passing of one of Lucas county's oldest citizens, he being at the time of his death 93 years of age. He was a brother of Jacob I. Scott, of Russell, and Mrs. Ellen Wiltsey, of Chariton. Another sister, Mrs. C. C. Force, died almost two decades ago.
He is survived by his son, Bert Scott, of Russell. He had been twice married, his first wife being a member of the McKinley family, both dying years ago.
In his active manhood he conducted a farm in Cedar township, but of later years maintained a home in Russell. Mr. Scott was ever a good reliable citizen who met every obligation of life, and certainly lived to a ripe old age.
