Martha E. Scott was born in Highland county, Ohio, April 7, 1855. In 1866 she removed to Iowa with her parents. She was united in marriage with C.C. Force in Chariton Dec. 31, 1885, making their home at Zero, Iowa where they lived until 1889, when they came to Russell where they have resided ever since.
For several years she has been an ivalid and suffered severe pain constantly. Everything has been done to alleviate her sufferings but without avail and on Sept. 26, 1900, she passed away, leaving a husband and one son to mourn her loss, one child having preceded her Sept. 18, 1888.
