WATERVILLE - Edgar L. Melcher, 75, a longtime resident of Waterville, died Friday, Nov. 18, 1994, at his home.

He was born March 5, 1919, to Carl E. and Olga (Zelmar) Melcher, at Wildrose, N.D. He moved with his family to Waterville in 1933, where he completed his education.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, from May 1942 until January 1946. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Waterville where he worked in construction.

Mr. Melcher was a member of the Wenatchee Eagles.

He is survived by two brothers, Larry of East Wenatchee, and Earl of Wenatchee; six sisters, Eva Engvaldson of Noonan, N.D., Elvia Schettler and Ruby Anderson, both of Waterville, Ada Moore of Kettle Falls, Alice Anderson of Spokane, and Lila Johnson of Lynnwood. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
