Graveside Services for Ellen Bartlett are 11:00 AM Thursday, July 9, 2009 in the IOOF Cemetery in Rockdale.

Visitation, Thursday 8AM to 10AM at the funeral home.

Ellen "OtMama" Malcik Bartlett was born February 15, 1920 in Rosebud to Frank and Vlasta (Schiller) Malcik. She was a 1938 graduate of Rosebud High School.

On February 15, 1939 she and Clarence Edward Bartlett married in Temple.

She stayed in Rockdale with family while serving as a Coast Guard Wife when Jr. was stationed overseas. She then went to work at Prewitt Drugstore and Walker-Burnett Pharmacy as a bookkeeper for many years.

Ellen was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockdale. Over the years they did a lot of traveling. A favorite winter vacation place was to Acapulco and Guadalajara. For many years they opened their home to boys from the Round Rock Childrens Home, and this led to special lifetime friendships, such as Sherry, Matt and Laura Chambers.

Ellen passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009 in the Renaissance Villa in Rockdale, reaching the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents. Her husband Jr. on March 30, 1986, and a niece Patricia Bartlett in 1952.

Surviving are extended family; Skeet and LeJean Quinney, Gaye and Charles Bland, Kay Bow, Bo and Kathy Quinney, Clayton, Krystal and Karsyn Bland, Kyle, Meggie and Kallen Bow, Kirk and Koy Quinney all of Rockdale. Caryn Bland and Kolby Bow of Austin and Kevin Bow of Stephenville. Aunt, Minnie Schiller of Rosebud. Cousins, Gary and Tabor Malcik of Rosebud and Nedra Spates of Splendora.

Pallbearers; Kevin Bow, Kolby Bow, Kyle Bow, Clayton Bland, Kirk Quinney and Koy Quinney.
