E.A.(ED) BLAKELY
In the presence of scores of friends and fellow officers, funeral services were held yesterday for E.A.(ED) Blakely, popular San Bernardino motorcycle officer who was killed Saturday in the line of duty.
Delegations of officers were in attendance from many communities and pallbearers were chosen from among members of the city police department.
The services held in the Mark B.Shaw Memorial chapel, were conducted by Rev.Maurice P.Stoute of Pasadena, assisted by Judge Donald E.VanLuven, preseident of the San Bernardino chapter of Native sons of the Golden West and Dr.Robert White, past president.
Two vocal solos by Mrs.Boyce Can Osdel, were sung during the services. Mrs.Cans Osdel was accompanied by Mrs.W.H. Gover.
The honorary pallbearers, all members of the Natives Sons, of which the officer was a member, were Leon Gregory, J.W.Jasper, Cecil C.Wood, Bard Livingstone, John J.Cadd, and Raymond O.Powers.
Active pallbearers were Douglas Mecham, John Brazil, Mark Beach, Bernard Hutchins, Thomas Stuteville and Ben Coleman.
