Wilfred R. Burns
CAMPOBELLO, SC-- Wilfred Ryan Burns, 77, of 1620 Caldwell Road, died August 27, 2004. A native of Spartanburg County he was the son of the late James Alexander and Bessie Barnwell Burns and the loving husband of the late Nettie Babb Burns for over 50 years.
He was the oldest active member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he served as the Sunday School director for over 25 years was an active choir member and served as a Deacon. He was retired from the weaving department at Bigelow, worked part-time with Campobello Cutting Service and was a lifelong farmer.
He is survived by two sons, Randy Burns and wife Tanya, of Campobello, Mike Burns and wife Emily, of Campobello; a daughter, Gail B. Littlefield and husband Jimmy, of Campobello; a sister, Margaret Hazel, of Greer; eight grandchildren, Tina L. Harrell, Jason A. Littlefield, Summer B. Campbell, Amber B. Irvin, Dylan Wilfred Burns, Carmen B. Hutcheson, Christopher Ryan Burns and Cody A. Burns; and seven great-grandchildren Ashton and J. T. Irvin, Micah Campbell, Edy Haygood, Malachi Hutcheson and Sara and Lauren Harrell. He was predeceased by a sister, Ann B. Forrester and four brothers, James Burns, Harold Burns, Max Burns and Ray Burns.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Bethel Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Jason Williams and Rev. Steve Morgan. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family is at the home of Jimmy and Gail Littlefield 1650 Caldwell Road, Campobello, SC 29322.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church 13040 Hwy 11, Campobello, SC 29322.
