Alka Mayo Stapleton, 93, of Paintsville, died Tuesday, Feb.10,1998 at Highlands Regional Medical Center. She was born August 16, 1904 in Johnson County, the daughter of George Garfield Auxier and Lula Salyers Auxier. She was homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Dow Stapleton who died November 25, 1974. She is survived by two sons E.S. "Bus" Stapleton and Johnnie C. Stapleton, both of Flat Gap: two daughters, Garnet Gay Goble of Flat Gap; and Mary Lou Draughn of Pikeville; one brother, Chester Auxier of Flat Gap; four sisters, Iva Joy Meade, Pauline Meek, and Irene Britton, all of Louisa; and Ruth Hayes of Dayton, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren four step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. Services were February 13, at Jones-Preston Funeral Hone with Paul Dean Meade officiating. Burial was in the Johnson County Memorial Cemetery
