Isaac had been a coal miner most of his life, but when he came to the US in 1887, he turned to farming. He was also a barber for a time. He emigrated with his wife, Annie, their two children, and his sister-in-law, Jane. After meeting up with his in-laws already in Dodge County, NE, they lived in the area for several years having four more children. One died before they moved on to Dixon County where they eventually settled.
He's buried with his wife in Concord Cemetery. Three of their children - Margaret, Andrew, and Joseph - are buried near-by, as well as grandchildren and other relation.
