Funeral for Joe Jackson Cooper, 66, of Courtland will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Highway 36 Holy Church of Christ with the Rev. Carold Hall and the Rev. Harold Hall officiating.

Burial will be in Red Hill Cemetery with Parkway Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Cooper died Wednesday, September 13, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born April 27, 1934, in Lawrence County to Monroe Jackson Cooper and Clara Edna Owens Cooper. He was a retired farmer and attended Highway 36 Holy Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Kay Cooper; seven sons, Billy Joe Cooper of Blanche, Tenn, Jackson D. Cooper of Trinity, David W. Cooper of Bay Minette, Joe J. Cooper and Benjamin D. Cooper, both of Leighton, and Thomas J. Cooper of Courtland; 11 daughters, Debra C. Tanksley of Decatur, Linda S. Johnson of Trinity, Evaleen M. Morgan of Hartselle, Lisa A. Cooper of Orlando, Fla, Island Marie Cooper of Talladega, Becky Jo Allen of Town Creek, Melissa D. Mears and Clara Cooper, both of Moulton, and Myrtis E. West, Bobbie Jo Ryals and Theresa D. Pearson, all of Bay Minette; 32 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Sons will be pallbearers.
