For more than 30 years, Louise Hinely was known as Rincon's Avon Lady. Thursday, 12 days after a car in which she had been riding was hit at the intersection of McCall Road and the Springfield bypass, the 78-year-old lifelong Effingham resident died from her injuries at Memorial Medical Center.....Nephew Paul Wendelken remembered Hinely as a kind, unselfish woman who was a devoted wife to the late Vernon C. Hinely, for whom Rincon's community center is named. She put aside her Avon sales, at least in part, to devote more time to caring for her husband as his health failed during the last several years of his life. "For the last year of his life after he had gone to the nursing home, she was at his side every day," Wendelken said. "It became pretty much like her occupation. She would go up to see him in the mornings and leave in the evening." She was a passenger in the car that pulled onto the Springfield bypass from McCall Road at about 9 p.m. May 2, taking a left turn toward Rincon. She and the driver, another elderly woman to whom she was related, were on their way back from visiting a relative in Springield....
