Funeral for James Edward McCormick was held Saturday, May 3, 2 p.m., at Enon Baptist Church with Johnny Huey, C. G. Redding and Chris Goode officiating. Burial was in the Enon Baptist Cemetery with Parkway Funeral Home directing.
Mr. McCormick died Thursday, May 1, 1997, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center.
He was born in Lawrence County to Will and Hattie McCormick. Mr. McCormick was also retired from Baker Wood Reels.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Rooks McCormick; one son, Gerald Rooks of Danville; his brother, Marvin McCormick of Danville; two sisters, Minnie Hembree of Danville and Zell Spots of Michigan; three grandchildren; and one stepgrandchild.
Pallbearers were Kenny McCormick, Jason McCormick, Jeremy McCormick, Brock Rooks, Roy Lance Jr. and Mark Stewart.
