RITES ARE HELD FOR BILL BLACK

Funeral services for William Edwin (Bill) Black were held Thursday morning, Aug. 4, in the First Methodist church. Rev. M. F. Bell of Shawnee officiated and was assisted by Rev. I. Boyd Ruffner, pastor, and Rev. R. P. Sherry. Interment was in Green Hill cemetery. Bahner Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Klein Poole, Herman Allen, Roland Robinson, Royce Dale Jones, Odell Orr, and Harold Oakley.

Black, a resident of Davis since 1907, was a retired carpenter. He had been in ill health for a long time. He died Aug. 2 in Hale's Nursing home.

Born in Ledbetter, Tex., Black moved to Davis from Sommerville, Tex. He worked as a carpenter before his retirement. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sammie Black, four sisters, Mrs. Rachel Christy. Miss Birdie Black, Mrs. Hugh Faulkner, and Mrs. Otis Gibson, all of Davis; two brothers, N. W. "Fritz" Black of Davis, and George Black of Healdton and several nephews and nieces.
