SHERRITZE, MR. LUNA M. - age 87, of Sharps Chapel, passed away 10:49 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Blazing Star Lodge #455 F&AM, Past Patron of Blazing Star Chapter #481 Order of the Eastern Star. Preceded in death by wife, Nelle Shoffner Sherritze sons, Charles (Rattler) Sherritze and Earl Sherritze son-in-law Paris Keck granddaughter, Norma Sherritze. Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law Wade and Finna Sherritze of Knoxville, George and Ann Sherritze of Galveston, Indiana daughter, Mary Keck of Sharps Chapel daughters and sons-in-law, Enna Faye and Bob Howe, Sheila and Charlie Best, all of Douglasville, Ga. 13 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren 27 great-grandchildren six step great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren sister, Bessie Barker of New Tazewell, and several nieces and nephews. Masonic Service 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by Blazing Star Lodge #455 F&AM. Funeral services 11 a.m. Thursday, Cooke Mortuary Chapel, Elder Harold Hunt officiating with music by the Sherritze family. Interment in Phillip Keck Cemetery, Claiborne County. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Cooke Mortuary, Maynardville.
