Mrs. Carol E. Coakley, 72, former McComb resident died Sunday in Blanchard Valley Hospital. For the past three years Mrs. Coakley had been in the Oak Grove Manor Nursing Home, Deshler.
She was born Nov. 6, 1899 in McComb to Dr. Harry E. and Lottie M. (Hull) Brubaker. She was married to Arthur L. Coakley June 21, 1922 and he died Feb. 7, 1966. She was a lifelong resident of McComb.
Mrs. Coakley graduated from Bowling Green Normal School in 1919 and taught school in McComb until her marriage in 1922.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. William (Alice) Borgelt, Mrs. Edward (Eileen) Bennett, and Margaret, all of McComb; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was a member of the Progress Study Club, the McComb Blue Star Mothers, the Willing Workers Sunday School Class, the WSCS and the United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Duo Decem Bridge Club. She was church organist for several years.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hartley Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
