Arthur L. Coakley, 64, W. Main St., McComb, a lifelong resident of Hancock county, died at 10:30 a.m. yesterday at his home of an acute coronary occlusion.

A graduate of the McCarie Dental School in Detroit, Mich., Mr. Coakley was a mechanical dentist. he was associated with Bennett's at the time of his death as manager of the Economy Store in McComb.

Active in republican party circles, he was a member of the central committee for years. He served on the McComb school board, was a former member of McComb Rotary Club, was a charter member of the board of directors of Shady Acres Golf Club Association and was a member of McComb Methodist Church.

He was a member of the McComb Volunteer Fire Department for many years, served on the board of the Put-Han-Sen Area Council and was associated with his father as a carpenter at one time.

Born Jan. 8, 1902, he was a son of William F. and Rosa (Lape) Coakley. He married Carol E. Brubaker June 21, 1922, and she survives. Also living are three daughters, Mrs. William (Alice) Borgelt, Pleasant township, Mrs. Edward (Eileen) Bennett, McComb and Margaret, at home.

A son, Charles, is dead.

Services will be held at the Harmon Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. Robert P. Miller, assisted by the Rev. D. D. Worthman, officiating. Burial will be in McComb Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-10 p.m. today, and 4-6 and 7-10 p.m. tomorrow.
