Longtime Minot Dairyman, Dies
The funeral and burial were in Newberg, Ore., for William Emery Myers, 85, of Newberg, a longtime resident of Minot, who died Aug. 18 at his home.
Mr. Myers ran Myers Dairy in Minot for 30 years.
He was born July 20, 1876, at Frizzellburg, Md., the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Myers. When 24 years old he homesteaded at Surrey.
Mr. Myers married Annie Harrison in 1901. In 1916 they moved to Minot and lived here until 1945 when they moved to Newberg.
His first wife died in May 1950, and he married Ida Detrick in 1951.
Mr. Myers was baptized in the Church of the Brethren when he was 22 and in 1937 he transferred his membership to the Dunkard Brethren Church.
Surviving are his widow; five sons, H. Ray of Berthold, Harold H. of Phoenix, Ariz., William H. of Greentown, Ind., Preston D. of Glasgow, Mont., and Walter C. of San Diego, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Paul (Alice) Litfin and Mrs. Carrie Laycock, both of Newberg, Mrs. Leo (Burnadeen) Stemen of Burlington and Mrs. Robert (Esther) Dougall of Port-land, Ore.; a brother, Herbert Myers of Unionbridge, Md.; 31 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
