Taylorville, Ill, April 28. - James D. Nelms, father of Dr. J. N. Nelms, of Taylorville, died at 3:20 o’clock this morning at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. F. L. Wheatley, in Assumption Township, from the effects of a paralytic stroke, which he sustained Saturday.

The, widow and nine children and great-grandchildren, besides many great-grandchildren are surviving.

The children are: Mrs. W. S. McConkey, Stonington; K. E. Nelms of McCook, Neb.; Dr. J. N. Nelms, Taylorville; Mrs. F. L. Wheatley, Assumption; W. H. Nelms, Springfield; J. H. Nelms, Mt. Sterling; George E. Nelms, Price, Utah; C. O. Nelms, Herschel, Ill, and Emery Nelms, Edinburg.

The remains were brought to Taylorville this afternoon via Decatur, and taken to the residence of Dr. Nelms.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
