A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Taylor and Dorsey Fisher Greene. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Fairis Reed, who died in 2004; three sisters, Hazel Johnson, Ullah Rogers and Artie Yarbrough; and three brothers, Boyce, Carl and Raymond Greene. Blanche was a member of Crestview Baptist Church and she liked making crafts, gardening and upholstery. She had a special interest in genealogy and researching her family tree.
She is survived by a son, Michael Greene and his wife, Deanna, of Waynesville; a daughter, Sharon Bryson and her husband, Roy, of Canton; one sister, Opal Mann and her husband, Clayton, of Asheville; one brother, Luther Greene of Canton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and her special caregivers.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2009 at Crestview Baptist Church with Reverend Dean Clontz officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
